• Fasting: When a patient undergoes a Doppler ultrasound, they are often asked to avoid eating for several hours beforehand to obtain the clearest possible results.
• Avoid nicotine: Nicotine affects blood vessel dilation and constriction, so it is critical to avoid nicotine for at least two hours before the Doppler ultrasound.
