Additional information
CardioChek PA Portable Blood Cholesterol Analyser
The CardioChek Professional Analyser allows healthcare professionals to track their patient's cholesterol levels in a point of care environment. The system can accurately determine Total Cholesterol, HDL Cholesterol, Triglycerides, LDL Cholesterol (calc.), TC/HDL (calc.), glucose and several combinations of these parameters in as little as 90 seconds, at the point of care. This portable and cost-efficient device uses the same technology as clinical laboratories and only requires a small blood sample from a simple fingerstick. The portable device is battery operated, compact and easily stored.
Reviewed in 2009 by the NHS Centre for Evidence-based Purchasing and recently by the Heart UK Lab Committee, the CardioChek PA System is now the market leader in the Point of Care Lipid testing arena. There are currently over 9000 devices with the majority being used in the NHS Health Checks program.
Testing Options
There is a range of analyte test panels that can be used with the CardioChek® PA test system. This includes Total Cholesterol (TC), High Density Lipid (HDL), Triglycerides, and Glucose (mmol/L). In addition, the CardioChek® PA test system can also calculate LDL and Cholesterol/HDL Ratios. Only a small blood sample is required (15 – 40 µL). Results are delivered in 90 seconds, so they can be discussed within the consultation, therefore saving time and removing the need for follow-up appointments.
