NIOX VERO® Replacement Breathing handle

The breathing handle can be used for 1,000 measurements or up to one year from the date of installation, whichever comes first. To maintain the accuracy of your test results, please do not use a breathing handle beyond 1,000 measurements or one year.

When it is nearly time to replace it, the breathing handle will let you know by showing alert code A82 on the NIOX VERO® display.

Replacing the breathing handle is simple. Please follow the steps below. You can also view a video demonstration below.

• Lay the device on its side on a safe and even surface.
• Remove the expired handle by pushing the socket into the device and gently pulling out the tube. Please do not attempt to remove the tube without pushing the socket into the device. Failure to do so could damage the socket and compromise the ability to continue testing.
• Place the device on its stand. From the main menu on the device touchscreen, select Settings.
• Select Reset Breathing Handle icon An icon for resetting the breathing handle on the NIOX VERO® which has a breathing handle with a circular arrow in the middle.. The breathing handle information view will open to confirm that the replacement was successful. Please do not select the Reset Breathing Handle option until Step 3 has been performed and a new breathing handle has been fitted.
• Press OK to acknowledge the confirmation.
• Reset the remaining measurements counter to 1,000 and the new expiration date to one year from the current replacement date.

The breathing handle contains potassium permanganate and should be disposed of as hazardous waste in accordance with local regulations.
