Trolleys
A medical trolley is often where a procedure starts: dressings laid out before a wound is redressed, medicines loaded before a round, case notes kept together as a clinic moves from room to room. The right clinical trolley keeps what is needed within reach and makes each task quicker to set up and clear away. Our medical trolleys and hospital trolley range covers dressing, surgical, medication, notes, cleaning and laundry trolleys, utility carts and modular tray trolleys, from manufacturers including Sunflower Medical, Shuttleworth Medical and Doherty.

Many trolleys can be adapted after purchase with additional trays, tray dividers, locking doors, covers, filing pockets and sharps bin holders, so it is worth checking what is available for a model before settling on a configuration. FAQs
What types of medical trolley are there?
Medical trolleys are usually grouped by what they carry. Dressing and surgical trolleys hold supplies and instruments for procedures, medication and dosage system trolleys are used for medicine rounds, notes trolleys keep patient records together, and cleaning, laundry and utility trolleys support housekeeping and general transport. Modular tray trolleys such as Sunflower’s Vista range can be configured for several of these roles. Utility carts and multi-purpose trolleys are also often set up as diagnostic trolleys or laboratory trolleys.
What is the difference between a dressing trolley and a surgical trolley?
Both provide a clean, stable working surface, but they are typically used for different tasks. Dressing trolleys are set up for wound care, often with stainless steel shelves that are straightforward to wipe down between uses. Surgical trolleys are generally used to hold instruments during procedures in treatment and procedure rooms.
Can Vista trolleys be configured?
Yes. Sunflower Vista trolleys come in several sizes with different combinations of single and double depth trays, and can be extended with additional trays, tray dividers, locking doors and trolley covers.
Do you supply resuscitation and crash trolleys?
Yes. Quick response trolleys are listed here, and our wider emergency trolleys range includes resuscitation trolleys, among them a complete Medisco emergency resus trolley.
Can NHS departments order medical trolleys from HCE?
